Prof. Anne-Lise Christensen,
founding member of the AMN, pronounced the welcome address to the Brazilian President, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, during the inaugration of the International Center of Neurosciencies and Rehabilitation in Brasilia of the SARAH Network of Hospitals for the Locomotor System. According to Christensen, this new Center, inaugurated in December 2003, is the most advanced center from the technical and the human point of view.

The Association of the Pioneiras Sociais (APS) - a non-profit, privately-run, autonomous social service association - is the managing institution of the SARAH Network.

The Association's work program has the following main goals:
- render quality public health care in locomotor system medicine;
- train and contribute to the continuing education of professionals, in addition to promoting scientific knowledge;
- generate information in the area of epidemiology, hospital administration, quality control and cost containment on services rendered;
- promote educational and prevention activity aimed at minimizing the causes of the main pathologies treated at the Network.
