Prof. Awad is Director of the Agouze Physical Medicine And Rheumatological
Rehabilitation Centre, Armed Forces Medical Affairs, Cairo and President of the Egyptian Society for Back Pain. Prof. Klaus R. H. von Wild - member of the Advisory Board and guest speaker - spoke about Neurosurgical approach in the management of degenerative lumbar spine and Functional rehabilitation in Locked- in Syndrome following atlanto-occipital decompression.
On this occasion the new Society for Neuro-Rehabilitation was founded: founding members were Prof. Awad, Rheumatologist, Prof. El-Tribi, Neurologist and Psychiatrist. Prof. Twafik, Neurosurgeon, and Prof. von Wild, Neurosurgeon.
