AMN proudly annouces the election of its new president, Dr. Wen-Ta Chiu

Good afternoon,

Prof. Klaus von wild mailed me and invited me a few weeks ago to participate in this meeting. This would be an honor and good chance for me to attend and to learn something from the conference.
I am currently the vice-president of Taipei Medical University and the superintendent of the 750-bed University affiliated Wan fang municipal Hospital. My previous positions include head of Neurosurgery and department of surgery, former president of Taiwan Neurosurgerical society from 2000-2002, Congress president of ICRAN 1999, which is held in Taipei. I have been interested in epidemiology and research of Neurotrauma and the prevention of injuries & quality of life. One special event I have to mention in my career is that the introduction and the initiation of the motorcycle helmet law 1997 in Taiwan. The implementation was very effective due to the efforts of the neurotrauma and multidisciplinary groups, which resulted in the reduction of head injury deaths by almost 30% implementation of the law.

I am currently the Secretary of the Neurotraumatology Committee of World Federation of Neurosurgeons and I was appointed as the president of 2nd international society of reconstructive neurosurgery & the 5th meeting of Neurorehabilitation committees of WFNS and I would like to express my special thanks to Prof. Von Wild for his support in every aspect, including the ICRAN &the ISRN meeting and also thanks to his invitation to me for this meeting.

Finally, it is my great pleasure to be here and to know all of you, and I am looking forward to work with you in the future.  In addition, I would like to invite all of you to participate in the 2nd IRSN, which will be held in Taipei on Sep.13-16, 2007.
